What Is Pyrolysis Plant?

General Working Process

In fact, the pyrolysis process for biomass waste and municipal solid waste are similar. Generally, it includes pre-treatment, pyrolysis, discharging and de-dusting system.

1. Pre-treatment System

This section aims to improve the quality of raw materials. The ideal water content is less than 15%, and the size is smaller than 15 mm for biomass waste and smaller than 20 mm for tires or plastic waste. Then you need to pre-heat the reactor first to remove the air inside.

2. Pyrolysis Process

Pyrolysis is happening under high temperatures. The carbonization temperature is between 300 -600 degrees, while the pyrolysis temperature for MSW is 200-450 degrees. During this process, it will produce combustible gas, which can be purified and then used as fuel to heat the reactor. Meanwhile, the hot gas will go through the condenser to separate other end products. Generally, the quality of the reactor matters the output of the end products.

3. Discharging System

The difference is that the biomass pyrolysis plant can work continuously, which means you can discharge charcoal while feeding. However, for batch pyrolysis reactor, it takes time to cool down first, and then discharge carbon black after the pyrolysis is completed.

4. De-dusting System

This system is used to purify the tail gas to meet the emission standards.
